I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a fun and relaxing one, but I will have to tell y’all about it tomorrow.
I’m actually at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City right now and will be here all day. 😉 My cute baby boy (10 year old) is having a Cardiac Ablation done to hopefully cure his heart arrhythmia (Wolfe-Parkinson-White Syndrome.)
It’s a relatively low risk procedure, but they use catheters to go up inside his heart to “test” it and then use a laser to fix the problem.
I’m trying to stay calm and not overthink everything (I’ve been known to do that!), but it makes me nervous to know they are messing with his heart.
It was also hard to say “goodbye” to him and leave him in the care of the doctors. He was very scared and on the verge of tears. 🙁 I really wanted to break down and bawl myself, but I had to be the “tough mom.”
I’m not very good at being tough.
Anyway, I’m expecting to be here all day. The procedure takes 3-4 hours and they monitor him for 5-6 hours after that! So I brought a lunchbox full of yummy healthy snacks. I didn’t want to fall victim to whatever food is in the cafeteria. 🙂
I brought Chobani yogurt, string cheese, Babybel cheese, a peanut butter and honey sandwich, strawberries, grapes, and grilled chicken (yes, I’m weird and like it cold.)
Yum!
I also brought a lot of good reading material with me…
My sister gave me a bunch of her old Oxygen and Runner’s World magazines. I’m like a kid at Christmas. 😉
Well, I’ll keep y’all updated on his progress. I hope everything goes smoothly.
I had a crazy week last week and indulged in too much sugar, but I plan to tighten up big time this week! Have a great day!
