Hey, hey, hey! Happy weekend once again! I hope you all had a fun Halloween. I really love Halloween. It’s a very strange holiday, but I love it! I’m not a fan of the mega extreme Halloween stuff (grisly gore, evil, lack of respect for human life, etc.), but I think the spooky, innocent fun stuff is awesome. Halloween is such an epic childhood holiday too, so I always try to live it up with my kiddos!! I just remember how much I loved Halloween when I was a kid….seeing the Halloween commercials pop up on the TV, seeing the Continue Reading…
Eating Well, Staying Motivated + Naked Nutrition
Well folks, I just have a few random thoughts to share with y’all tonight. I get asked all the time about how I stay motivated, what I eat, how I stick with a regular exercise regimen, how to get started with healthy living, etc. etc. etc. Well, the long and short answer to all of those questions is…..it’s complicated. Ha ha. I loooooove health and fitness and I love living (or trying to live) a healthy lifestyle because it’s so rewarding. When I’m actively taking care of my body (eating well, getting decent sleep, exercising), I feel better, I have Continue Reading…
An Unorthodox Run + Some Healthy Meal Ideas
Guys….running is hard. Just sayin’. I love it though. I’ve missed it and I’m so happy to be back at it! I must say that Spring running is my fave. I love running in the Fall too, but there’s just something about Spring in general that renews my motivation and makes me want to work hard, clean everything in sight and get my crap together…in all aspects of my life. I love it. But even though I love running in the beautiful Spring weather, it is still so freaking hard. Running is not only a physical workout, but it’s also Continue Reading…
Our Atypical Spring Break + What It Takes to Get in Kick Butt Shape
Well we’ve definitely had an interesting “Spring Break” this week. Ha! First off, this is what it looked like as we headed to church last Sunday… We had a full on snow storm Saturday night into Sunday! It was crazy. We accumulated a good few inches, although most of the snow melted by the end of the day. My mom and sister live on the opposite side of the valley, up on the mountain and they said they got like a foot of snow! We went up to visit them Sunday afternoon and there were branches broken off of trees Continue Reading…
My New Healthy Plan + Some Tips that Help Me Stay Motivated
Well life is slowly, but surely calming down and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’m starting to actually chip away at my giant to-do list. Woo hoo! I love getting my life in order and I absolutely LOVE cleaning, organizing and de-junking. It is exhilarating to me! Yes, I’m weird. I also started my new “healthy plan” that I talked about in my last post. Can I just say that it feels so dang awesome to be disciplined and on track again!! Yes, I definitely miss my crappy food indulgences, but seriously, it is so much more rewarding to Continue Reading…
Things I Eat Most of the Time!
K, so I took some of the kiddos over to the park today to fly a kite and play on the playground. We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect! It’s actually really hard to take a picture of a kite being flown + the person flying it, so I did it in two parts… There ya go. My oldest son has always loved kites. Today was the perfect kite flying weather too! I really love spring weather in Utah. It’s usually the perfect temps (~65-80 degrees) and we get cool rain storms, hail storms, rainbows and Continue Reading…
