7 Day Weight Loss Cleanse Progress!

January 17, 201314 Comments

Well, I’m still trudging along with my little 7 day weight loss cleanse.  It’s tough, but I really love it.  I’ve already lost 2 1/2 pounds, have plenty of energy and feel great!

Usually when I try to lose weight, I just tighten up my diet a bit and patiently wait for each little pound to drop.  It seems to take forever and I end up losing motivation and feeling defeated.  🙁  I’m sure many of you can relate.  Why is it that weight seems to pile on effortlessly, but is next to impossible to take off???

So, that is one of the things I love about this cleanse….it’s just 7 little measly days!  I can do anything for 7 days, right?

Anyway, here’s an overview of my week so far!

Exercise:

Monday:  I went to my fav Boot Camp class and it just about killed me!  It was high intense cardio the WHOLE time with a little bit of weights mixed in.  I’ve always loved the class, but I swear it’s gotten harder the past few months.  I love it!  I figure, if I’m taking the time (away from my family) to get to the gym, I’m gonna leave it all on the floor!

Tuesday: I went on a quick 2 mile run on the treadmill.  Yuck.  The weather here has been terrible.  Seriously, I feel like we live in a deep freezer.  The temps have been in the single digits and below zero for weeks.  Our air quality has been gross too.  Sooo, I haven’t wanted to run outside.  Spring could not come any sooner. 🙂  That little groundhog better NOT see his shadow….or I will have his head.

Wednesday: I went to my Muscle Works class at the gym.  It is such a great class and the instructor is such a kind, happy, motivational person.  I am so sore today (awesome!), especially my inner thighs (double awesome!)

Today:  I’m going to my Power Flex class in just a little bit.  I always get my butt kicked in that class and I love it so much!  Can I just tell you how grateful I am to have incredible gym instructors!?  Yes, I love them all. 😉

Water Intake:

I’ve definitely been getting my 3 liters of water in.  I keep my trusty Brita 1 Gallon pitcher in my kitchen and grab a glass every time I’m in there.  I even bought some lemons and have been enjoying lemon water as well.  Super refreshing.

Sleep:

This is the one I always struggle with.  I’m happy to say I’m doing fine in this area.  I’ve been getting about 7 hours a night this week.  I would love to get 8, but can’t seem to get there!

Diet:

Obviously, this is the most important factor in this cleanse.  I’m happy to say I haven’t cheated at all.  Woo hoo.  Fruit and small spoonfuls of peanut butter have been satisfying my sweet tooth for now.  Here are some pics of things I’ve been eating the past few days;

Quinoa, veggie, egg scramble with fruit

Quinoa, veggie & egg scramble topped with tomatoes and low sugar ketchup.  Served with a side of fruit!

OIAJ and egg whites

This was breakfast this morning.  OIAJ (Oats in a Jar) served with a side of 3 scrambled egg whites topped with low sugar ketchup.

A peak inside…

Chocolate Spinach Protein Shake
Chocolate Spinach Protein Shake.
1 C. unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 T. ground flax seed, 1 T. cocoa, a little almond extract, 2 big handfuls of baby spinach and 6-7 ice cubes.

Celery and banana with peanut butter

I was not feelin’ the “salad vibe” yesterday, so this was what I came up with instead.  Super yummy!! 2 sticks of celery and 1/2 banana all topped with yummy natural peanut butter.

Lentil Soup leftovers

Leftover Lentil soup!  I had this for lunch yesterday along with an orange.  Leftovers definitely make this cleanse easier.

Turkey Burger, green bean fries and fruit

Turkey burgers, green bean fries and fruit.  I made this for dinner Tuesday night and had the leftovers for dinner last night.  It was so yummy and reminded me of summer!!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal creation

The other day I was having a serious sweets craving.  This is what I came up with; 1 1/2 Tablespoon natural peanut butter, 1 T. oatmeal and a little stevia.  It was actually perty good and seemed to quiet the sugar demons. 😉

Well, that’s about it.  I will post recipes for a lot of these things soon!  Have a wonderful Thursday night.  Tomorrow’s Friday….yippee! 😉

I’ve Decided My Healthy Cleanse is Over!

November 20, 2012Leave a Comment

Happy Tuesday to you all!  Tuesday’s are our craziest day of the week, so merely surviving is a plus. 😉 Well, I have officially ended my “healthy cleanse!”  I started on October 8th and it was technically supposed to go for 8 weeks.  However, I always considered it more of a 6 week thingy because healthy grains were added back in the last two weeks.  At that point, it essentially became just a typical healthy diet. Anyway, I told y’all about the nasty flu bug that hit our family a couple weeks ago.  Well, that pretty much did me in Continue Reading…

A Quick Update

October 26, 2012Leave a Comment

I don’t have a ton of time, but I wanted to hop on here and do a quick post. 😉 I’m teaching a “Healthy Habits” class tomorrow at an activity for our church.  It should be fun!  I’ve been busy this week preparing for it, so I haven’t had much time to blog.  So sorry. I’m still going strong with the “healthy cleanse” and I love it!  It really hasn’t been too hard.  The first 4-5 days were really tough, but now it’s just become second nature.  Yay. It’s been SO NICE to add in fruit!  I must say that Continue Reading…

Happy Fruit Day to ME!

October 22, 20126 Comments

I’m so excited to EAT FRUIT today!  Wahoo! I’ve been on a “healthy cleanse” diet the past couple of weeks and today we get to add in fruit.  I’m so happy about it. 🙂 I’m sorry to say the first fruit I ate was half of an overripe banana.  Ewww. I ate my typical (weird healthy cleanse) breakfast this morning; eggs + chicken and guac.  I didn’t take a pic today, but here’s a pic from a couple days ago, This breakfast is actually very tasty, albeit very unorthodox! After breakfast, I went to my 9:00 class at the gym.  Continue Reading…

I Made it Through Week #1!

October 16, 20122 Comments

Well, I officially made it through week #1 of my “healthy cleanse” diet.  Wahoo!  It’s been tough, but for the most part I just try to “get ‘er done” and not over think it.  I’ve pretty much been eating different variations of the same thing. It is getting very old. Here are some pics of my “creations”…. Scrambled eggs (1 whole egg + 4 egg whites) and chicken topped with low sugar ketchup and Walden Farms Ranch Dressing. How ’bout that???? More eggs!  Yes, 1 whole egg +4 egg whites scrambled with peppers, onions and spinach topped with low sugar Continue Reading…

It’s Nice to Not have a Raging Appetite!

October 12, 20124 Comments

Well I am officially on Day #5 of my “healthy cleanse.”  Yay!  I actually really love doing things like this.  It’s tough, but I know a little self discipline is good for me! I already live a pretty healthy lifestyle, but I know my “healthy lifestyle” can quickly become a little too casual and comfy if I’m not careful.  I told y’all I had 5+ pounds creep up on my lately.  I don’t like that! Soooo, I think it’s a good idea to jump start the system every once in a while!  In fact, I think I’ll do this cleanse Continue Reading…
